Skinbag plays original acoustic rock with rich vocal harmonies and diverse guitar textures. The band is local to San Diego and spent its early years as a four-piece grinding out thick metal grooves in clubs in Seattle, LA, and throughout San Diego. In 2001, Jim and Dave decided to unplug and create music at once more intimate and accessible. The result: simplified sounds with expanded feel.

What does Skinbag mean? Maybe not what you might think…especially you dirty-minded individuals. Like the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” we are more than our looks or our bodies. You have to look beyond the bag of bones to truly see and know someone. Yet our Skinbag is usually the first thing seen, and it is the common denominator among all people. It may be the one thing that unites us all, regardless of ethnicity, creed, language, or location. Dave and I have attempted to reveal who we are beneath the skin through our music in an effort to connect to people on a deeper level, and in the process have discovered that underneath it all, we are really very similar. We’d like to thank our friends and families who have supported us and who have shown along the way that the connection is real and exists beyond the physical limits of our world.
